Project for Supporting Sberbank During Liquidation

Client Description

Sberbank Hungary was the Hungarian subsidiary of the international Sberbank Group, providing banking services for both retail and corporate clients. Its activities included lending, account management, and offering various savings and investment products. It operated under the ownership of the Russian parent company and aimed to provide innovative, customer-focused financial solutions in the Hungarian market.

Project General Description

During the liquidation period of Sberbank, we played a crucial role in preparing data services. This involved a detailed review and organization of financial statements, customer databases, and contractual documents. Throughout our work, we closely collaborated with the bank's legal and financial departments to ensure that all necessary information was accurate and up-to-date. We paid particular attention to compliance with data protection regulations and strictly adhered to the formats and deadlines required by the authorities during the data service process. This precise work facilitated a smooth liquidation process and ensured proper communication with the involved parties.

Challenge

The production of the report prepared for the National Deposit Insurance Fund (OBA) was a critical task in the liquidation process. In our work, we ensured that the report met the strict requirements of the OBA and provided an accurate picture of the bank's depositors' situation. This included gathering depositor data, categorizing deposits, and calculating compensation amounts.

We had to perform a historical data transfer according to the complete dataset defined by MKB Bank, all while facing a continuous reduction in the number of available expert colleagues. This challenge required effective work organization and optimal utilization of existing resources.

We played a significant role in the complex process of portfolio migration between Sberbank and MKB Bank. Our responsibilities included the planning and execution of the migration process, which involved compiling, transferring, and processing historical data on both banks' sides.

  • Management of Special Data Requests
  • During the bank's liquidation, several specific data requests arose, and their prompt and accurate handling was of significant importance. Among these, the preparation of the debtor list played a key role alongside the OBA report.
