MVM Remote Monitoring System

Client Description

The MVM Group is a key player in the Hungarian energy system, playing an important role in the implementation of the country’s energy strategic objectives with its successful and competitive operations. The MVM Group’s ever-expanding portfolio covers the entire Hungarian energy sector. With its complementary services (such as IT, financial, and security services), it is prepared to meet the increasingly complex consumer demands from a single source.

Today's MVM Group is the most complex MVM in history, encompassing virtually everything related to energy: it produces, stores, trades, distributes, services, plans, builds, transports, and incubates.

Project General Description

The goal of the project was to implement the Okoskazán boiler monitoring system, a remote monitoring system that supports the supervision of the heating centers of MVM Főgáz Földgázhálózati Kft. The system enables continuous data collection from the devices and measurement points installed in the heating centers, including pressure and temperature values, as well as the operational data of the equipment.

Challenge

The task of the Okoskazán boiler monitoring system is to support the supervision of heating centers (boiler houses) remotely monitored by MVM Főgáz Földgázhálózati Kft. This is achieved through on-site data collection and the aggregation and processing of the measured data at a central location. By displaying the measured values and managing error tickets, the system simplifies the work of employees responsible for heating center supervision.

How we helped?

  • Detailed Assessment
  • During the project, a thorough assessment of the available technical specifications and parameters, as well as the client’s user, functional, and operational requirements, was conducted. This information lays the foundation for the system's efficient operation.
  • Implementation of the Okoskazán Remote Monitoring Application
  • Based on the completed specifications, we developed and implemented the Okoskazán remote monitoring application, which facilitates the effective supervision of heating centers.
  • Data Collection and Measurement
  • The installed remote monitoring measurement and data collection device continuously measures the characteristics of the heating center's equipment, including primary and secondary pressure values, temperature data, and other operational information. This ensures accurate and up-to-date data for the system.
  • Data Transmission and Processing
  • Using a data loss prevention protocol, the device transmits the measured data in data packets every minute to the remote monitoring system's data receiving unit. After processing the received packets, the measured data is logged into the respective heating center's log.
  • Error Handling
  • If an error occurs (for example, if a packet is missing or there is a data range error), the system automatically records an error ticket for the operator users, ensuring a prompt response.
  • Storage of Equipment Information
  • The Okoskazán system stores installation, warranty, technical, maintenance, and inspection dates and information for the equipment installed in the heating centers, which aids in long-term tracking.
  • Graphical Display and Export
  • The system can visually represent error signals and heating centers on a map, display a 360° view of a heating center's data, illustrate historical data of measured values through graphs, and export the measured values for further analysis.
